Preparation for life's journey
"At Gresham Village School and Nursery, every child is treated as a unique individual from the youngest age. We aim for every child to be reading by the age of 6 and have an exceptionally well trained and enthusiastic staff who make this happen. We were delighted by our Ofsted inspection in June 2016, from which we received a very positive report and confirmation of our grading of 'good'.
With only 120 pupils, we pride ourselves in knowing every child and their families exceptionally well and therefore tailor teaching and learning to ensure that the needs of every child are understood and met. We provide many opportunities for children to learn outdoors, from nursery age right through to year 6 and have developed our grounds over many years to support our outdoor learning programme. We are a Forest School and have a small wood in which to make this aspect of the children's education happen.
Whether three years old or eleven, we provide a curriculum that enables our children to flourish, developing a curiosity for the world and learning. We help our children to grow in confidence and consideration, encouraging them to make confident and thoughtful decisions. Above all, we see these first years of school as the essential first steps in preparing our young people for their own journey through life."
